What is the K-Rock St. Lawrence Junior Golf Tour?
The K-Rock St. Lawrence Junior Golf Tour is a local golf tour that has been in existence for over two decades. It consists of 8 individual golf courses in the general Kingston-Belleville corridor. Each of these golf courses hosts a tournament as part of the junior golf tour. The entry fees for each tournament (generally between $30-$45) will go towards a light meal and prizes for the players.
The philosophy of the tour is to provide a fun, but competitive tour for junior golfers ages 10-18 (as of Aug. 9th, 2010), with emphasis on golf etiquette. It is a great opportunity for juniors to play new courses, meet new friends and develop their knowledge of the rules of golf.
Each tournament provides the junior golfer with the opportunity to earn points based on performance. At the end of the tour, there is a closing banquet at Cataraqui. The top golfers in each division and overall tour winner will be awarded the "Ambassador Cup". In addition, the top 4 male players will be selected for the K-Rock team to be sent to the Ontario Team Championships. Please note that the top players must have played in at least 4 of the 8 events to qualify. (Juvenile and Junior division to be combined as one division for this purpose.)
